European Junior Programmer

At BDP, our intern IT department is responsible for our logistics and accounting software. We work together with our operational colleagues to fulfill their needs, but also with our customers, vendors and third parties to setup communications between ourselves and their own applications.
As part of the Programming team, you will be part of a global initiative, maintaining, supporting and developing this in house written operational software. You will be in direct contact with the other BDP colleagues as part of a second line helpdesk, but at the same time you will have your own programming projects to work on.
Support users with the application
Develop new functionalities at users request
Maintaining the complete application set
IT dept. and management support when required
Excellent knowledge of programing languages, mainly PHP and Java. Other programming languages or skills are a definite benefit.
Database maintenance, mainly in MySQL
Knowledge of SQL language
Knowledge of Windows based systems and Unix commands
Fluent English written and spoken, other languages are an advantage
Excellent communication skills, ability to guide users
IT degree is not a must but should have a high level of computer knowledge
Good analytical skills
